Monday Hair Care
I used to be an Olaplex girlie. Although at $32 dollars a bottle I truly can’t justify it anymore. Especially now that I’m not dying my hair vibrate colors as often anymore. I am now out of my shampoo but I have conditioner left (a classic tale).
I decided to go ahead and replace my shampoo to try to figure out what brand I want to go with. Ultimately I’d like it to be from the drug store and under $15 a bottle. I found Monday’s Moisturizing Shampoo for $6.99 for the small bottle. Which is in budget. I was mostly looking to make sure it didn’t have sulfates in it.
Have you tried Monday? Do you love them? If not what brand do you love?
After years of religiously using high-end shampoos, my wallet (and my conscience about spending so much on hair care!) finally declared enough was enough. I was on the hunt for a drugstore gem that could deliver similar results without the hefty price tag. That’s how I stumbled upon Monday Moisture + Hyaluronic Acid Shampoo, a brand I'd seen popping up everywhere and was curious about. My main concern was finding something truly effective for my often dry and dull hair, especially after years of coloring. The fact that it boasts a sulfate-free and paraben-free formula immediately caught my eye, as these harsh chemicals can strip hair of its natural oils, leading to more dryness and potential damage. The addition of hyaluronic acid was another big plus, known for its incredible ability to retain moisture, which is exactly what my thirsty strands needed. At just $6.99 for the small bottle, it felt like a low-risk experiment. Upon my first wash, I was pleasantly surprised. The shampoo has a lovely, subtle scent – not overpowering at all. It lathers surprisingly well for a sulfate-free product, which is often a concern for people switching over. My hair felt incredibly clean yet not stripped. Rinsing it out, I could already feel a noticeable softness. After air-drying, my hair felt light, hydrated, and had a healthy shine that I hadn't seen in a while without using multiple expensive styling products. It truly felt like it was doing what it claimed: adding moisture back into dry hair. Now, for my curly-haired friends out there asking, 'serve para cabelo cacheado?' – is it good for curly hair? While my hair isn't curly, I've done some research and heard from others that the Monday Moisture line is a popular choice for enhancing natural curl patterns. Many find that because it's sulfate-free and packed with moisturizing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, it helps to hydrate curls without weighing them down, reducing frizz and promoting definition. It's often recommended for those following the 'curly girl method' due to its gentle, nourishing formula. Given how well it moisturized my dry hair, I can definitely see it being a fantastic option for curls needing extra hydration and softness. Beyond its performance, I also appreciate the brand's commitment to being dermatologically tested, cruelty-free, and having recyclable packaging. It feels good knowing I'm using a product that's not only effective and affordable but also aligns with more ethical and sustainable practices. For anyone looking to replace a high-end shampoo with a budget-friendly alternative that actually works to combat dry and dull hair, and might even be a game-changer for curly textures, I highly recommend giving Monday Moisture Shampoo a try. It’s certainly become a staple in my routine!

I did not like it at all, my hair felt, and looked gross.
