Working at a Used Cell Phone Processing Center
Not going to lie this was one of my favorite temp jobs that I worked during Covid. At this job I started out by sorting phone into boxes. I had a scanner where I would can the phone and then the box it would go into.
After a few weeks of that I got moved to receiving. This is where customers sent in their phones for trade-in. My job consisted of opening these packages. Removing screen protectors, and making sure all SD cards and SIM cards are disposed of properly. I then package the phone so that I can be further sorted.
The last place I worked in the company was in processing. I was chosen for a new stream pinning process for testing the used phone before resale. In this process, I would plug the phone into a computer and run a series of test with the help of the computer. I really enjoyed this process, it was like playing apps all day with a little bit of trouble shooting mixed in.
I overall enjoyed my experience at this job. It was fairly laid back. Although we were not allowed to have our phones on the floor. (Cause that could be confusing) We were allowed to have an MP3 player which definitely helped to pass the time.

What an interesting job. One question, what determines whether a phone is good for resale. For instance if it has a cracked screen, do you have a separate dept for repairs?
