My Feelings: The only reason the characters got a point knocked off was the names. They were just a little weird in my opinion and all I could think about was the dang water filter. Everything else I LOVED. The Spice? On point. The banter? On point. This book had me feeling all the feels. My Friend and I actually buddie read and still quote this book. I Highly recommend if you need some spice.

As a fellow book lover always on the hunt for my next obsession, I absolutely have to gush a bit more about 'Same Time Next Year' by Tessa Bailey. My initial review just scratches the surface of why this novella completely captured my heart, and honestly, if you're into a good, smutty hockey romance, you're in for a treat. What truly sets this book apart, beyond its steamy moments, is Tessa Bailey's ability to craft characters that feel real and a plot that keeps you hooked. While some might find the character names a tad unique (I admit, I had a chuckle or two), their personalities shine through. The setting, often a backdrop in other stories, truly comes alive here, earning its perfect 5/5. You can almost feel the chill of the rink and the heat of the intimate scenes. For those who appreciate specific tropes, 'Same Time Next Year' delivers. We're talking about classic romance elements like marriage of convenience – yes, a Green Card marriage! – and the delicious tension of a hero who absolutely, unequivocally states, "I Want My Wife." The story kicks off around New Year's Eve, adding that perfect touch of 'new beginnings' and high-stakes romance. It’s not just about the spice; it's about the emotional journey of these two characters as they navigate a relationship born out of necessity but destined for so much more. This novella, despite being an Extra Long Novella, packs a powerful emotional punch, making every page count. Now, let's talk about the 'smutty hockey romance' aspect. Tessa Bailey is a 1 New York Times bestselling author for a reason, and her skill in writing passionate, engaging encounters is undeniable. The banter between the main characters is top-tier, sparking with wit and undeniable chemistry that builds beautifully to those spicy moments. It’s the kind of book where you find yourself highlighting lines because they're either hilarious or incredibly swoon-worthy. If you're like me and constantly searching for recommendations on #BookTok or other book communities, and you loved the sound of this, you might be wondering how to find similar reads. Look for authors known for sports romance, especially hockey, and don't shy away from books labeled 'spicy' or 'closed-door to open-door.' Engaging with communities like #BookReview and #BookRecs can also lead you to hidden gems. 'Same Time Next Year' is a fantastic example of a book that delivers on its promises, giving you all the feels, plenty of laughs, and definitely enough spice to keep things interesting. Trust me on this one – you'll want to add it to your TBR pile.
