About Me!

... Read moreSo thrilled you're here to learn a little more about me! Diving into Lemon8 feels like a fresh start, and I'm excited to share my world beyond just a quick intro. Many of you might know me as a creator from other platforms, but here, I want to really open up about what makes me, me. Being a neurodivergent and disabled creator definitely shapes my life and my art in unique ways. For me, creativity isn't just a hobby; it's a vital part of how I navigate the world. My crocheted beanie, for example, isn't just a fashion statement – it’s often a comfort item, part of my sensory toolkit. My 'they/them' pronouns are also a key part of my identity, and I appreciate everyone using them respectfully. One of my biggest passions is crochet, and it’s evolved into my small business, Batty Crochet. There’s something incredibly therapeutic about the repetitive motion of looping yarn, watching a flat string transform into a vibrant, tangible object. My collection of colorful crocheted plushies – like those frogs and the snowman you might have seen – are little pieces of my imagination brought to life. Each one tells a story, and I pour so much love into them. It's a joy to create things that bring smiles to others, and running Batty Crochet has been an amazing journey of learning and growth. Beyond crochet, I also find immense satisfaction in other creative outlets. You might have spotted my completed paint-by-numbers artwork featuring those whimsical skeletons under mushrooms. There’s a certain magic in following a guide and seeing a beautiful scene emerge. It's a different kind of focus than crochet, less about design and more about the meditative process of color and form, a perfect way to unwind. My life isn't just about crafting, though. My husband is my rock, always supportive of my creative endeavors and my biggest cheerleader. And then there are my three beautiful furbabies: Dante, my sleek black cat; Finn, my spirited white and black dog; and Smokey, my adorable chinchilla. They bring so much joy and chaos into my home, and honestly, they're often the best company during long crafting sessions! Coming to Lemon8, I’m hoping to connect with new people, share more behind-the-scenes glimpses of my creative process, and perhaps inspire others. It's a space where I feel comfortable sharing my journey as an actually autistic individual, navigating life and creativity. I believe in fostering an inclusive community where everyone feels seen and valued. So, thank you for stopping by, and I can’t wait to share more with you all here!
