HI! I’m River!

So many of you have asked to know more about my sweet girl, River! For those who've just met her virtually, she's my incredible black dog, always full of life and surprises. She’s just 8 months old, and it feels like every day is a new adventure with her. She has this boundless energy that keeps me on my toes, and she absolutely loves to play. Whether it's chasing after her favorite squeaky toy or just romping around the yard, she's always ready for action. But don't let her energetic side fool you! River is also the biggest snuggle bug you'll ever meet. After a long day of playing, there's nothing she loves more than curling up on my lap under a cozy blanket. In fact, she's quite the sleeper – like a LOT of sleeping! Sometimes when she's really out, with her head resting on my arm, I joke that she's part seal because of how peaceful and utterly relaxed she looks. It's truly one of her most adorable quirks. One of River's absolute favorite things is snow. The first time she saw it, she was so excited! She doesn't just play in it; she loves to eat it, too! Watching her sniff the ground, then take big chomps of fresh powder, always makes me laugh. It's these little things that make her so special to me. Our journey together started after a bit of an unexpected turn. River had an accident early in her life, and that's actually how she came into my care. It was a challenging time, with vet clinic visits becoming a regular thing for a while. Seeing her recover and flourish into the happy, healthy dog she is today has been the most rewarding experience. She's been a true fighter, and I couldn't be prouder. I still remember her first grooming session, sitting up on the table looking so dapper in her little watermelon bandana, staring straight into the camera like a natural model! Of course, as her mom, I can't help but document every precious moment. She probably thinks I never stop with the pictures, and frankly, she might be right! From her playful antics to her deep sleeps, and even those moments at the vet, I want to remember it all. River brings so much joy and unconditional love into my life, and sharing her story with you all is wonderful. She's not just a dog; she's a beloved family member, and I'm so grateful for every single moment with my amazing River.
