... Read moreWow, setting up my iPhone Reminders for classes was a game-changer, but honestly, creating new lists in the Reminders app has transformed so many other areas of my life too! It's not just for school; these lists are incredibly versatile.
After getting my class schedule perfectly organized using the 'Add List' feature, I started thinking, what else could I streamline? My grocery shopping used to be a chaotic mess of sticky notes. Now, I have a dedicated 'Grocery List' where I can quickly jot down items as I run out. Even better, I can share this list with my roommate, so we both contribute, and nothing gets forgotten. This simple step of creating a new list really cuts down on mental load and those extra trips to the store!
I also made a 'Home Chores' list, breaking down daily, weekly, and monthly tasks into 'New Sections,' just like I did for my class assignments. This helps me visualize everything that needs to get done without feeling overwhelmed. And for bigger projects, like planning a trip or a home renovation, having a specific list with sections for "Packing," "Bookings," and "To-Do Before Travel" is a lifesaver. Using the 'Manage Sections' and 'Edit Sections' features to rearrange priorities as things change has made me feel so much more in control.
One tip I've learned is to really lean into the customization options when you create a new list. Choosing a distinct color and a fun emoji for each list makes it super easy to spot what I need at a glance. My 'Work Projects' list might be blue with a laptop emoji, while my 'Personal Goals' list is green with a star. This visual cue might seem small, but it makes navigating the Reminders app so much more intuitive and, dare I say, enjoyable!
Beyond just creating new lists, remember to actually use them by adding your specific reminders. You can quickly add a new reminder by tapping the plus button within any list. For classes, this means adding due dates, exam times, and project milestones. For groceries, it’s individual items. Don't forget that you can also set due dates, locations, and even attach photos or URLs to individual reminders – these are features I use constantly to make my lists truly functional.
If you're ever feeling swamped, just remember that the iPhone Reminders app is a powerful tool for getting your thoughts organized. Start by creating a new list for whatever area of your life feels most chaotic right now. Whether it's for work, personal errands, or your next big adventure, the ability to 'Add List' and then create 'New Sections' (and 'Manage Sections' as needed) is a foundational step to a more organized and less stressful life. Give it a try, you might be surprised how much clearer your head feels!
Thank you so much this is going to help me get through the rest of this semester 🫶🏽🙌🏽
