Okay, so like many of you, when I first got my new iPhone 15 Pro, one of my biggest questions was: 'Does it actually support Qi wireless charging?' The good news is, yes! All models in the iPhone 15 series – the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max – are fully Qi-compatible. This means you can use pretty much any standard Qi-certified wireless charger to power up your device. It’s such a relief not to have to worry about cables all the time, especially on my nightstand. Now, here's where it gets a little tricky for some: charging with a case on. My original article briefly touched on this, and I can't stress enough how important it is to find a charger that works well with your phone's protective gear. I’ve definitely had experiences where a thick case made wireless charging a total nightmare. The phone either wouldn't connect, or it would constantly stop and start charging. For my iPhone 15 Pro, I made sure to find a Qi charger that specifically stated it could charge through cases up to a certain thickness. This is a game-changer! My phone just slides into place, even with my robust case, and starts charging instantly. No more frustrating adjustments! So, how do you pick a good one? There are so many options out there! When I was looking, I did a lot of research. First, always look for 'Qi-certified.' This ensures safety and compatibility. Second, consider the charging speed. While iPhones typically max out at 7.5W on standard Qi chargers, some chargers are designed for faster charging (up to 15W for MagSafe-compatible ones, but we're talking standard Qi here). For my bedroom setup, I personally prefer a stand-up charger so I can easily see notifications, but flat pads are great too. I found some amazing finds on Amazon, reading reviews carefully to see what other iPhone 15 users were saying about case compatibility and reliability. Don't forget to check if the charger comes with its own power adapter; sometimes they don't, which can be annoying! A few extra tips from my experience: Make sure your phone is centered on the charging pad. Even a slight misalignment can prevent charging or slow it down significantly. Also, avoid placing metal objects between your phone and the charger, as this can interfere with the charging process and even damage your device. If you're experiencing slow charging or overheating, try removing your case temporarily to see if that's the issue. Sometimes, an old or non-compliant charging brick can also be the culprit, so ensure you're using a compatible power adapter with your Qi pad. It’s all about finding that sweet spot for seamless power delivery.
