Ruby Goddess Temple, Joss House Bay (Tin Hau Temple, Joss House Bay)

The temple was built in c.1266.

In the past, Hong Kong was a fishing village. The goddess Ruby (Tinhua) is therefore the goddess of the sea, much respected by boaters to ask to travel safely. It is now listed as an official historic site of Hong Kong.

How to pay respect

Buy a set of offerings in the temple, light candles / incense, stand in the eyes of the president, give your name, last name, address, and make a wish, pin the incense with your left hand, then face out to the sea to salute in four directions.

The highlight of the sacred dragon bed is in the ruby goddess bedroom with 3 dragon beds. This room must inform the officer before entering. The officer will take the ceremony to pray for one thing (financial, health or child) and use two hands to make a lucky gesture towards the person 3 times. Put your hand under the blanket on the dragon bed. We choose the money to get a lucky envelope to collect rich money. Don't forget to look at the amount of money we get.

How to travel

1. Take MTR Purple Line down Po Lam Station (Exit 😎 > Exit Green Mini Bus Line 16 > Get off at Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club stop > Walk down the stairs in front of the golf course for about 10 minutes to the beach gauge.

2. It is recommended to get off at MTR, Po Lam Station or Hang Hau Station (Purple Tseung Kwan O Line), call a taxi and notify you that you go to Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club ().
