2025 is a heavy year for me and so I thought I’d share the “master plan” for my final year of my twenties.
1. Travel more!
I’ve only even traveled locally, opting for staycations or to casually drive to CA. Recently I went to New York and it really just opened my eyes. I want to travel more before I start settling down. My big goal is for Japan. Wish me luck ⭐️
2. Eat good food!
I grew up being a picky eater and that has stopped me from eating all kinds of good food. Thankfully through the years I’ve met a lot of people that have opened broadened my palate and I can’t help but kick myself for missing out. So where ever I go I’m going to try their food. Whether I like it or not I’ll be happy knowing I at least tried it once.
3. Be curious
Growing up I was always told to not ask question and mind my business. It how you stayed out of trouble. But that mindset has rendered me completely mute! I never ask questions in fear of being too nosey or overbearing. Some people actually find it offensive! So now I’m going to ask those question because I genuinely want to know and I want to learn so I can understand.
4. Explore!
Being immersed in the art and culture is an amazing learning experience. I love getting to know the history of a place and hear from the locals what makes it special. Yes viral hotspots are great but I’d also like to understand from a local perspective.
Overall, I want to start living life instead of just surviving. I’ve wasted so much energy and time on things that did not matter (although I thought it was important at the time) but now that I’ve had a serious reevaluation of my life I know what I want. So for the last year of my twenties I’ve decided to go all out, yes I understand it’s important to save etc but I’m not getting younger and up til now I did everything I thought I was “supposed” to do. I think it’s time to put me first.
... Read moreI know many of us are looking for ways to truly 'become her' in 2025, and for me, it's all about intentional living and embracing every moment. My master plan isn't just a list of wishes; it's a commitment to transform how I experience life. You might be wondering, what does 'become her' truly mean in practice? For me, it means shedding old fears and limitations, like being a picky eater or fearing curiosity, and stepping into a bolder, more experienced version of myself.
When it comes to my travel goal, the idea of finally visiting Japan isn't just about seeing new sights; it's about pushing my comfort zone and proving to myself that I can make big dreams happen. To make this a reality, I've started a dedicated travel fund, even if it's just setting aside a small amount each week. I'm also researching budget-friendly tips and looking into flexible travel dates. It's not about luxury, it's about the experience and creating unforgettable memories before I settle down. I’ve realized that sometimes the biggest hurdle is just starting to plan.
Broadening my palate, as mentioned in my 'master plan,' isn't just about food—it's a metaphor for being open to new experiences in general. If you're like me and were a picky eater, try challenging yourself with one new dish a week, or even just one new ingredient. Start small! My friends have been incredible at encouraging me, and peer influence can be a powerful tool. It’s amazing how many incredible tastes I missed out on, but now I’m making up for lost time, one delicious bite at a time.
Becoming more curious and exploring are deeply intertwined for me. I used to hold back, afraid of being 'too much.' But I've learned that genuine curiosity is a superpower. If you want to ask more questions, start in low-stakes situations. Ask a friend about their day, or inquire about a local landmark. For exploring, ditch the tourist traps sometimes. Seek out local markets, hidden cafes, or community events. Ask locals for their favorite spots – that’s where the real magic happens! My goal is to understand the soul of a place, not just its Instagrammable spots.
This 'become her in 2025' journey is truly about choosing myself. It’s about understanding that life is passing by, and I have the power to shape my experiences. My biggest takeaway so far is that it’s never too late to redefine your priorities and go after what truly makes you feel alive. What's one small step you can take today to move closer to 'becoming her'?
