The 'makeup vs. no makeup' debate is something we all navigate, whether consciously or not. And let's be honest, a good filter can just smooth things out, add a glow, or even put cute heart shapes around your head, making you feel instantly camera-ready for that perfect shot. However, there's also an incredible liberation in going completely bare-faced. Peeling back the layers of foundation and mascara, and stepping out with just my natural skin, piercings (like my nose and lip piercings), and all, feelsā¦ authentic. It's a reminder that my value isn't tied to how perfectly contoured my cheekbones are or how dark my lashes look. Embracing my natural self has been a powerful step in cultivating self-love. It allows me to truly see and appreciate my features without any enhancements. This isn't to say one is better than the other. The 'makeup vs. no makeup' discussion isn't about choosing a side, but rather about understanding why we make the choices we do. Do I wear makeup for myself, or because of societal expectations? Do I feel less confident without it? These are questions I often ponder. The truth is, both have their place in my life. Some days call for a vibrant red lipstick and a touch of filter fun for a special occasion, while others are all about letting my skin breathe and enjoying the simplicity of a bare face. Ultimately, it boils down to personal choice and what makes you feel good. It's about finding a balance that supports your well-being and allows you to express yourself authentically, whatever that may look like on any given day. My journey has taught me that true beauty shines from within, whether it's highlighted by a touch of blush or glowing naturally under the sun.
