Finished Module 1!!!
What I went over:
• Generative AI and it's terminology 🤖 🛠⚙
• Identifying key Hardware components 💻📱🖨
• Describing functions and roles for operating systems 🍎 🐧 🟥🟩🟦🟨
• Interactions between hardware and software📱⚙🍎
• The relationship between operating system processes and computer hardware 👫 📺
After completing Module 1, I found it fascinating to understand how generative AI works and the terminology around it, which really helps demystify the technology behind popular AI tools today. The module also deepened my appreciation for the hardware that makes computing possible — from the processor to input/output devices like phones and printers. Learning about operating systems was particularly eye-opening, as I realized how crucial they are in managing computer resources and enabling software to function. For example, Apple’s macOS and Linux (displayed as 🐧) each have unique roles in system management and user interaction. One aspect I found especially useful was exploring the interactions between hardware and software. Before this course, I hadn’t fully grasped how operating system processes communicate with hardware components to ensure smooth performance. These insights helped me better understand everyday technology usage, from booting up my laptop to running applications efficiently. Completing the module assignments, such as the software type matching challenge and operating systems quiz, solidified my knowledge. The grade of 90% gave me confidence in these fundamental IT concepts. Moving forward to Module 2, which focuses on enterprise systems and security, I’m excited to apply this foundational knowledge to more complex topics. For anyone starting with IT or software development, getting a solid grasp on hardware basics, AI concepts, and operating systems provides an essential base to build upon.
