Book Review
My next top read of 2024 is Hood Feminism by Mikki Kendall. This book dives into the overlooked issues that affect marginalized communities, particularly women of color, challenging the mainstream feminist movement to be more inclusive. I really resonated with Kendall's perspective on how feminism can and should address real-life struggles like poverty, housing, and access to education, rather than focusing solely on issues that primarily affect privileged groups. It feels like a necessary and eye-opening read for deepening my understanding of intersectionality in activism. #readingwrapup #lemon8challenge
