UPDATES: what’s going on with the FAFSA
Hello lemon8 friends!!
Here are the most recent updates from the official FAFSA site!
Looks like there will be a “soft launch” coming up and the form is now open at various points for students attending school beginning in the summer for the JULY 1, 2024 to 2025 aide year!!
Rest assured, there will be time to complete it and all universities are informed of this this change!
There appears to be many changes being made to the form that the FAFSA team did not foresee taking this long. The FAFSA deadline being postponed by MONTHS is a huge delay and I know all of my friends have been stressing like crazy about it! Know that you are not alone! There will be many updates on timing and deadlines to come. Universities should be in contact with you, however, if you are concerned for your own personal finances I strongly encourage you to meet with a financial advisor on your campus!
Hope this helps!!
Stay updates on changes by following the FAFSA socials listed above!
Xoxo

As the 2024-2025 FAFSA processes evolve, it's crucial to stay updated on the latest changes affecting students. The 2024-25 FAFSA form will offer a streamlined application experience, allowing many applicants to answer fewer questions—potentially as few as 18—thus reducing the completion time to under 10 minutes. Additionally, eligibility for Federal Pell Grants has been expanded, potentially benefiting up to 610,000 new students from low-income backgrounds through updated aid calculations. The soft launch of the FAFSA is designed to ensure that the site functions smoothly as students apply for financial aid starting July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. Students are encouraged to act quickly and keep an eye on their StudentAid.gov accounts for email notifications regarding these changes. Furthermore, it's strongly advised for students to have open lines of communication with their universities about the FAFSA developments, especially with the recent deadline postponements leading to widespread concern among students. For personal finance issues, consulting a financial advisor on campus can be tremendously beneficial. Stay connected through FAFSA’s social media platforms for timely updates and resources that can further aid your financial planning.

I did it at the beginning of the year and I haven’t gotten any updates.
