Mia stepped through the glowing white door, feeling the icy mist release its hold on her. Blinding light poured out as she crossed the threshold, halting the shadowy figure trapped inside. Outside, she found herself in a moonlit forest, the mist weaving gently through tall, silent trees.

The black cat on her shoulder looked back at the cabin as the door slowly closed, sealing the dark figure within, its shadowy hand reaching out one last time before the door clicked shut.

The night was still and eerie, but for the first time, Mia felt a sense of peace. She took a deep breath, letting the cool forest air fill her lungs. She was free.
