Sharing a bit more about this lifestyle and identity, I find living as a Gen X person who is digitally savvy but rooted in analog traditions creates a unique perspective on life. The challenge of being part of the sandwich generation means providing support and care for both older family members and younger ones, which really does take a village. It’s a juggling act filled with responsibility but also meaningful connections. Living out loud and proudly queer adds essential layers of authenticity and personal empowerment. It feels great to embrace who I am openly, which breaks down barriers and invites others to do the same. One quirky aspect I relate to is my complete inability to keep plants alive—something I call my 'plant-killing' trait with zero aspirations to fix. It’s a reminder that nobody’s perfect, and all parts of personality and lifestyle come together to shape us. The DINK (Double Income No Kids) lifestyle gives me the freedom and energy to seek adventures and cherish plenty of time for myself and chosen activities. This energy feels liberating amid the demands of juggling different generational roles.
