full moon routine
it's a full moon careful out there
Hey everyone! I've been getting a lot of questions about how I connect with the spiritual side of nature, especially during a full moon. One of my favorite practices is 'Yemaya Earthing,' and I wanted to share my personal insights and how you can incorporate it into your routine. First off, what exactly is Yemaya Earthing? It's a beautiful blend of spiritual connection and grounding. Yemaya is a powerful Orisha, often revered as the Mother of the Ocean, the source of all life. She embodies nurturing, protection, and deep wisdom. When we connect with Yemaya, we're tapping into that ancient, feminine energy of creation and healing. Then there's earthing, also known as grounding. This is the practice of reconnecting our bodies directly with the Earth's natural electrical energy. Think about walking barefoot on grass, sand, or even just sitting directly on the ground. Modern life often disconnects us from this vital energy, and earthing helps to re-balance our electrical systems, reduce inflammation, improve sleep, and alleviate stress. I've found it incredibly calming and centering. So, how do we bring Yemaya and earthing together, especially under the potent energy of a full moon? The full moon is a time of heightened intuition, release, and manifestation. Its energy amplifies our intentions and makes spiritual practices even more profound. Here’s a simple Yemaya Earthing ritual I love to do during the full moon: Set Your Intention: Before you even step outside, take a moment to decide what you want to release or invite into your life. Are you seeking calm, emotional healing, or a deeper connection to your intuition? Find Your Spot: Ideally, if you have access to a beach or a body of water, that's perfect for connecting with Yemaya's energy. But don't worry if you don't! Any patch of grass, a garden, or even a quiet park where you can safely place your bare feet on the earth will work beautifully. Get Grounded: Take off your shoes and socks. Feel the texture of the earth beneath your feet. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, inhaling peace and exhaling any tension. Imagine roots growing from the soles of your feet, deep into the earth. Invoke Yemaya: In your mind or softly aloud, call upon Yemaya. You might say something like, "Beloved Mother Yemaya, I invite your loving, nurturing presence. Help me to ground myself, release what no longer serves me, and connect with your infinite wisdom." Visualize & Feel: As you stand or sit, visualize ocean waves gently washing over you, cleansing and renewing. Feel the Earth's energy rising through your feet, meeting Yemaya's calming influence. Allow yourself to simply be present in this moment of connection. Reflect: After spending 15-30 minutes (or however long feels right) in your earthing practice, gently bring your awareness back. You might want to journal about any feelings, insights, or messages you received. I've personally found that this ritual leaves me feeling profoundly peaceful, energized, and deeply connected to both myself and the natural world. It’s a wonderful way to honor the full moon's power and bring a sense of sacredness into your everyday life. Give it a try, and let me know how you feel!
