Question: am I the only stay at home mom that always finds a new hobby while staying at home with the kiddos?
This is my second postpartum leave, staying with my babies at home and I’m always looking for a way to learn something new: this time I got excited about doing my own nails. ( it seemed hard at first so I was like Challenge accepted 😅)
Let’s be honest the nail salon prices are ridiculous and since I’m staying at home with the kids , there is a lot of budget cutting and this was on top of the list. I didn’t want to spend that much money on my nails so I decided to get some DIY nail kit and started to do my own nails .
First time it was a disaster, they lasted only two days and I spent around four hours doing them.
I actually took a break from it and let my natural nails grow and get some strength for 3-4 months. I gave it another try again this year in March, I did just one hand during baby’s nap time and left the other hand for nighttime to finish. It took me again about 4-5 h & unfortunately the nails didn’t last more than three days it was still a plus but so much time for for only three days, I was frustrated 😭
I finally got down a good techniques after failing so many times and I get better at doing it which actually happend because two months forward I kept doing my nails every two weeks and my natural nail was growing and I would onlydo my nails once in two- three weeks and it’s something that I started to enjoy now .
It helps me with my year with my patience. It help me to have some me time to myself and get creative .
