What are your go-to bujo spread ideas?

I love bullet journaling but always have the toughest time deciding what to bujo about. Here are some ideas I’ve come up with and come back to because they’re so fun to do and look back on!

Book spread: bujoing about books is one of my favorite things to do. From writing reviews to keeping track of various challenges I love it all! But there is nothing I love more to look back at then these mood board/quote logs!

Quote/playlist: this one can require some planning and thinking outside the box! Find a quote you love, bujo it, and then find songs that remind you of the quote or give off the same vibe.

Letter to yourself: I started this journal in January of 2023 so it seemed fitting to put a letter to myself for the end of the year!

Playlists: this one is for my enneagram type, but you could also make monthly playlists, mood playlists, book/movie inspired, playlists for your friends/family… the possibilities are endless!

Find one song or album and bujo all about it: I love doing this when I find a piece of music that I’m super into! You can write background information, the tracklist/lyrics, what it sounds like, etc.

... Read moreHey fellow journal lovers! You know that feeling when you're staring at a blank page, pen in hand, and the inspiration just isn't flowing? I totally get it! I've been there so many times, even with my favorite bujo prompts & ideas. The initial ideas are awesome, but sometimes we need a little extra push to make our bullet journal truly ours and super aesthetic. I wanted to share a few more ways I keep my journal fresh and full of practical, inspiring content, especially building on those beautiful quote and playlist ideas. First off, let's dive deeper into making those playlist spreads truly shine. It's not just about listing songs anymore! If you’re looking for playlist drawing ideas, think about the vibe of your music. For a chill playlist, maybe soft watercolors or simple line art of nature. For upbeat tunes, go for bold colors, geometric shapes, or even tiny musical notes dancing across the page. I love creating a handwritten playlist notebook aesthetic by playing with different fonts for song titles and artists. You could dedicate a whole bullet journal playlist page to a specific mood, or even a 'soundtrack to my week' spread. Remember that 'Create a playlist for *anything*' idea? I've found adding small doodles next to each song – maybe a tiny coffee cup for a morning playlist, or a book for a reading one – really elevates the visual appeal and makes it feel uniquely yours. You can even find a piece of music/song that means a lot and design a whole spread around its lyrics and imagery. Then there are the quote spreads. Oh, how I adore a good handwritten quote journal aesthetic! Beyond just writing down powerful words, try creating a mini mood board bullet journal around your favorite quotes. If it's a quote about nature, add pressed flowers or leaf sketches. For an inspiring quote, maybe a bright sun or a mountain silhouette. I often use different colored pens to highlight key words, or even practice a bit of calligraphy to give it that extra artistic touch. The goal is to make it a piece of art that inspires you every time you flip to it, not just text on a page. These journal ideas aesthetic quotes really make your bujo a personal gallery. And for those days when you need a little extra emotional support, leaning into mental health bullet journal self care spreads can be a game-changer. I've found so much comfort in dedicating pages to gratitude logs, where I jot down three things I'm thankful for each day. Or a mood tracker, using a simple color code to visually represent how I'm feeling. Another great one is a 'brain dump' page for when my thoughts feel too overwhelming – just getting them out helps clear my head. For more intentional self-care, try a 'self-care bingo' spread, filling squares with activities like 'take a walk' or 'read a book' and ticking them off when you do them. These spreads aren’t just pretty; they’re truly practical tools for well-being. Finally, a super fun one that ties into finding joy: creating a favorite things journal spread. This is where you can let your personality really burst through! Whether it’s your favorite comfort food, a specific season, a cozy blanket, or even just the smell of rain, dedicate a page to illustrating or listing everything that brings a smile to your face. You can use polaroid-style boxes for small drawings or even glue in tiny scraps that represent these items. It's like a personal happiness inventory that you can revisit whenever you need a little pick-me-up. Remember, your bullet journal is your creative playground. Don't be afraid to experiment with colors, textures, and different layouts. The most important thing is that it brings you joy and serves your needs, whether that's tracking, planning, or simply reflecting. Happy journaling!
