Wyverns Hockey Series
Thank you for the opportunity of receiving this ARC.
Summer Shot, book two in the Wyverns Hockey series, picks up with summer break slipping away and the team trying to balance downtime with preseason work. A vacation meant to relax becomes a pressure cooker: training, friendships, and simmering resentments all collide. The book captures that tightrope between rest and readiness, and it keeps the momentum from book one while adding new frictions that feel real and earned. The question of who gets leadership roles drives much of the emotional tension. One subplot — a player passed over for alternate captain — lands with particular weight and follows into the early season, showing how small slights become bigger issues in a tight-knit group. Then there’s Raven, who arrives and immediately shifts the energy between Laur, Lucas, and Blaine; her presence creates the kind of mystery that makes you want book three yesterday. The pacing is sharp, character voices distinct, and the author lets the quieter moments breathe, which makes the conflicts hit harder. If you like sports romance or hockey-centered fiction, Summer Shot is worth your time — especially if you enjoyed book one. I’ll be watching for book three to answer the Raven questions. #hockeyromancebooks #hockeybooks #readers
