Drop your go-to slushy combo in the comments, I’m taking notes! 🥰🫶🏼
I literally eat watermelon every single day in the summer and somehow just now discovered watermelon slushies… like HOW have I never made this before?! 🙊😋
I had so much frozen watermelon left from before our Hawaii trip and threw it in the blender with some lime and coconut water and omg. It’s so refreshing, like a grown-up slurpee but actually hydrating.
Anyway, if you’ve got extra watermelon… freeze it. Then make this:
– 4 cups frozen watermelon
– juice of 1 lime or more :)
– ½ cup coconut water (or water or mint tea if you’re fancy)
– maple syrup only if your watermelon isn’t sweet
– pinch of salt (trust me it brings out the flavor)
Blend it up and drink it right away while it’s still frosty and perfect 🤩 🍉🍉🍉🍧
If you’re like me and love watermelon during the summer, transforming it into a slushy is a game changer. I always had leftover watermelon that would get too ripe before I used it all. Freezing it not only preserves it but also makes for the perfect icy base for slushies. One thing I found that really elevates the flavor is adding a pinch of salt. It might sound unusual, but salt enhances the natural sweetness of the watermelon, making each sip incredibly refreshing. You can swap coconut water for other liquids like cold green tea or mint tea to add a unique twist. For those who prefer a bit more sweetness, maple syrup is a natural alternative to sugar. It blends beautifully without overpowering the fresh flavors. I also love adding a handful of fresh mint leaves right into the blender for extra brightness and aroma. Making this slushy is not only simple but also hydrating and low in calories, perfect for hot days or after working out. The combo of watermelon, lime, and coconut water delivers electrolytes and antioxidants, helping you stay refreshed and energized. Experiment with other fruits like frozen strawberries or pineapple chunks for new flavor variations. Lastly, always drink your slushy immediately after blending to enjoy it at its frosty best—nothing beats that icy, refreshing texture on a sunny day!
