honestly one of the most exciting things i’ve learned on my health journey and it still blows my mind every time!!! 😄

if you haven’t tried making blender “ice cream” yet, consider this your sign. save this for when that sweet craving hits, it’s plant-based, naturally sweet, and tastes like dessert while being so nourishing 🍌🍌🍌

here’s how I made mine (serves 2–3)

INGREDIENTS

6 ripe bananas, frozen in chunks

¼ cup plant milk (to help blend)

optional add-ins i used:

2 tbsp cacao powder

1 scoop protein powder

1 big spoonful peanut butter

toppings i added:

fresh banana + strawberries

chocolate cereal

drizzle of manuka honey

HOW TO MAKE

blend frozen bananas in a high-speed blender or food processor until smooth + creamy (it’ll look crumbly at first and you might need to add some plant milk, keep scraping down and blending until it turns into “ice cream”). scoop into a bowl, add your toppings, and enjoy right away.

and let me know what your fave variation of this is :)

... Read moreI'm still buzzing about how incredible this frozen banana ice cream is! It feels like a little magic trick turning simple fruit into the creamiest ice cream ever. But beyond the basic recipe, there are so many ways to customize it and truly make it your own. Let me share some of my favorite tips and variations I've discovered along my health journey! First off, don't be afraid to experiment with your add-ins. While cacao and peanut butter are classics, I've loved throwing in other things too. For a tropical twist, a handful of frozen mango chunks or pineapple blends beautifully. If you're a berry lover like me, frozen mixed berries create a vibrant, tangy 'nice cream' that's packed with antioxidants. A little espresso powder can give it a delicious coffee flavor, perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up! And for something truly decadent, a swirl of melted dark chocolate or a sprinkle of toasted coconut flakes after scooping adds an amazing texture and depth. Getting that perfect, creamy consistency is key. My biggest tip is to be patient with your blender! It might look crumbly at first, but keep scraping down the sides and pulsing. Only add plant milk a tablespoon at a time if absolutely necessary to get it moving. Too much liquid and you'll end up with a smoothie, not ice cream. Also, make sure your bananas are really ripe before freezing – the riper they are, the sweeter and creamier your 'nice cream' will be. I usually wait until they have a good amount of brown spots before peeling, slicing, and freezing them in a single layer on a baking sheet before transferring to a bag. This isn't just a treat; it's a super nourishing one! It’s incredible how something so delicious can also be so good for you. You're getting all the potassium, fiber, and natural energy from the bananas without any added refined sugars. It truly satisfies that dessert craving in such a healthy way. And while it's best enjoyed fresh, if you have leftovers, just pop them back in the freezer. When you want to eat it again, you might need to let it thaw for a few minutes or re-blend it with a tiny splash of plant milk to get that perfect creamy texture back. Trust me, once you master this, you'll be turning frozen bananas into the creamiest ice cream ever all the time!
