Keto Air Fryer Mushrooms
INGREDIENTS:
6 ounces of button mushrooms halved
1 piece garlic minced
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 & ½ tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. Tamari
½ tsp. salt
0.5 tsp. pepper
½ tsp. garlic powder
INGREDIENT NOTES:
MUSHROOM:
The best mushrooms to air-fried are white button mushrooms. They are widely accessible and have a delicate texture and distinctive earthy flavor. You can also utilize Portobello or Cerimini mushrooms, but be aware that the cooking time will need to be extended by two minutes to account for the additional moisture.
GARLIC:
Utilized freshly minced garlic instead of dried powder.
OLIVE OIL & BUTTER:
Both fats work together to give the mushroom a deep taste and tenderness.
TAMARI:
Tamari adds a wonderful umami taste, particularly when combined with butter.
SALT AND PEPPER POWDER:
Salt and pepper powder is added to increase the taste of the mushroom.
PARSELY:
Parsley is included in the end to garnish the air-fried mushroom before serving.
INSTRUCTION:
Set the air fryer’s temperature to 180°C (350°F).
Apply the oil in the basket of an air fryer with the brush.
Mix the white mushrooms, olive oil, freshly minced garlic, liquefied butter, tamari, salt, powder of garlic, and black pepper in a mixing bowl and stir to combine.
Put the mushrooms in the basket of an air fryer and cook, shaking in the mid through, for seven to eight minutes.
Take the mushrooms out of the basket of an air fryer and add some fresh parsley on top.
TIPS:
If extra oil is required, add it, to ensure that the mushrooms caramelize and sputter up well, you want to cover them thoroughly with fat.
If necessary, sauté the mushrooms in batches to make sure that the mushrooms are cooking properly and equally. No soggy mushrooms, either!
Add more spices such as chili flakes, fresh thyme, or oregano.
Make use of flavored butter. This meal becomes opulent when paired with truffle butter, chili butter, or garlic.
SERVING SUGGESTION:
Serve the air-fried mushrooms with a dipping sauce made of garlic butter. The earthiness of the mushrooms complements the creamy, buttery taste.
Serve the mushrooms with ranch dressing or blue cheese dip for a creamy contrast that enhances the taste of the mushrooms.
Garnish the air-fried mushrooms on the pizza. For a delicious and flavorful pizza alternative, combine with mozzarella cheese, fresh herbs, and a sprinkle of olive oil.
For a tasty, bite-sized treat, arrange the air fryer mushrooms on a charcuterie board among cheeses, olives, almonds, and other appetizers.
Add hummus, fresh greens, and other roasted vegetables to a vegetarian wrap and use the mushrooms as the stuffing. It’s a filling and nutritious lunch option.
For a savory sandwich, place the fried mushrooms on toasted bread with melted cheese and some sautéed onions or arugula.
For more taste and texture, toss the air fryer mushrooms over a fresh salad, such mixed greens or spinach.
Serve these air-fried mushrooms as an appetizer with the New York steak, stuffed chicken breast, baked halibut, boneless beef short ribs, sockeye salmon, or sirloin tip roast.

Hey mushroom lovers! I've been experimenting a lot with my air fryer lately, and I just had to share some of my favorite discoveries for getting those truly perfect air-fried button mushrooms every single time. You know how frustrating it can be when they come out soggy instead of that beautiful golden-brown and crispy texture we all crave? Well, I've cracked the code for achieving that glorious caramelized and tender result! First things first, achieving that ideal golden-brown and crispy exterior is all about not overcrowding your air fryer. I learned this the hard way! If you pile too many mushrooms in, they'll steam instead of roast, leading to sad, soggy fungi. So, even if it means cooking in batches, resist the urge to overload the basket. This allows the hot air to circulate properly, giving you that envy-inducing deep, caramelized color and fantastic texture. Another game-changer for me was preheating the air fryer for a few minutes before adding the mushrooms. It helps kickstart the cooking process and ensures even crisping. And don't forget to give them a good shake halfway through! This ensures every side gets that lovely glossy coating and even cooking. Getting them perfectly cooked isn't just about time, it's about technique! Now, let’s talk flavor beyond the basics. While the original recipe for garlic mushrooms is divine, sometimes I like to switch things up. For those searching for 'air fryer garlic parmesan mushrooms,' here's a tip: once your mushrooms are almost done, sprinkle a tablespoon or two of grated Parmesan cheese over them and cook for another minute or two until melted and slightly golden. It adds an incredible savory, salty kick that’s still perfectly keto-friendly. I also love experimenting with fresh herbs. A sprinkle of fresh thyme or rosemary along with the parsley can elevate the earthy flavors even more. For a little heat, a pinch of red chili flakes tossed in with the other seasonings creates a wonderful contrast. And if you really want that 'rich, glossy sauce' feel, try swapping out half the olive oil for a flavored butter, like truffle or chili butter, as suggested in the original – it makes such a difference! These air fryer mushrooms aren't just a side dish; they're incredibly versatile! I often make a bigger batch for meal prepping. For a super easy keto-friendly dish, I love serving them alongside a juicy steak or grilled chicken breast. But they also shine as a quick appetizer. Picture them arranged on a charcuterie board, glistening and ready to be devoured. Or, for a flavorful and filling lunch, I’ve used them as the star stuffing in a low-carb lettuce wrap with some fresh greens and a creamy avocado dressing. They add so much satisfying texture and umami. I've even tossed them into a simple spinach salad for an instant flavor upgrade. A common question I get is, 'Why are my air fryer mushrooms still watery?' Besides overcrowding, make sure your mushrooms are thoroughly dry before you oil them. A quick pat-down with a paper towel can prevent excess moisture from steaming them. And for reheating, a quick 2-3 minutes back in the air fryer at 350°F (180°C) brings back most of that crispiness. Trust me, once you master these little tricks, you'll be making these delicious, fresh green parsley garnished air fryer garlic mushrooms all the time!
