My weight loss journey over my 48 years

I have been up and down in my weight all my life. Before marriage traditional sizes. No worries with weight til a couple years into my marriage. Then children. I’m very comfortable now at this weight. It’s not what scale says anymore. It’s how I feel looking in the mirror.

Many people experience fluctuations due to lifestyle changes like marriage and parenthood, and it's perfectly natural to have phases of ups and downs. What has helped me the most is shifting focus from strict dieting and traditional sizes to how I genuinely feel daily. Feeling comfortable in my skin, maintaining my energy levels, and enjoying mobility have become my true indicators of health rather than obsessing over weight. In my experience, incorporating simple habits like mindful eating, regular walking, and prioritizing sleep have had a more lasting impact than any fad diet. I've learned that being kind to myself during this process is key — self-criticism only held me back. For anyone on a similar journey, I encourage you to celebrate your body's strengths and listen to its needs rather than chasing unrealistic ideals. When you feel good inside and out, confidence shines through far more than any number on the scale can reflect.
