USB port?!?

A good USB-C cable connected to a high-wattage port can get you back to 50% in minutes, not hours. For those of us juggling busy lives, that speed is non-negotiable. Then there’s data transfer. Try moving hundreds of gigabytes of photos or 4K video files over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and you'll quickly appreciate the raw speed of a USB 3.0 or USB-C connection. External hard drives, camera memory card readers, and even some high-end microphones or audio interfaces still rely on USB for fast, stable, and low-latency data flow. For creators, gamers, or anyone dealing with large files, wired is still king. Peripherals and reliability are another huge factor. Think about your keyboard, mouse, webcam, printer, or external monitor. While wireless versions exist for many, a wired USB connection often offers lower latency, greater reliability, and doesn't require batteries that die at the worst possible moment. Plus, some specialized equipment, like drawing tablets or certain medical devices, simply function best, or only, via a direct USB connection. As a GEN Xer, I’ve learned to trust the direct connection for critical tasks. Finally, the sheer variety of devices we use daily makes multiple USB ports essential. I might have my phone charging, an external hard drive backing up files, and a headset connected for a video call, all at the same time. If you're a gamer, you've got controllers, perhaps a steering wheel, and other accessories. A single USB port simply isn’t enough for the average digital life, let alone a power user. Even in a world full of wireless gadgets, the humble USB port remains an anchor, providing power, speed, and reliability that wireless alternatives sometimes struggle to match. So, next time you eye-roll at a USB port, remember: it's still doing some serious heavy lifting in our increasingly connected lives!
