📋 Why Insulin Do Not Inject Original Position

1. Lipodystrophy

Lipohypertrophy → Convex / hard nodules under the skin from fat accumulation because insulin encourages fat cells to grow.

Lipoatrophy → Pit Dent Skin Caused by Fat Destruction / Immune Reaction to Insulin

2. Abnormal Insulin absorption

If injected in a lump, lipohypertrophy → insulin absorbs unevenly (sometimes slow absorption, sometimes fast).

As a result, sugar swings, poor control of diabetes.

3. Risk of infection and skin irritation

Repeated injections of the original area make the skin sensitive, inflammatory, or easily infectious.

4. Sore and wound heal slowly

Reusing the original position needle causes more pain, and may bruise the tissue.

Rotate site → circulate injection position, e.g. abdomen → upper arm → thigh → hip

In the same position, you should switch points, such as the abdomen, to turn around the navel, not to stab again.

Spaced at least 1-2 inches from the original point.

Always check the skin before injecting. If there is a hard lump / dent, avoid it.
