Squishy: “no” #bostonblizzard
Having experienced the Boston Blizzard of 26 myself with my own pets, I can share that cats’ reactions to heavy snow and cold weather can be quite amusing and insightful. Many cats tend to become more elusive, hiding under furniture or in cozy spots, trying to avoid the harsh outdoor conditions. Some may stare out the window intently, curious but cautious about the thick snow piling up outside. In my experience, creating a warm and secure environment for pets during blizzards is crucial. Providing extra blankets, heated pet beds, or even a sunny spot by the window can help them feel more comfortable. It’s also interesting how some cats seem to communicate their displeasure or unease, using distinct vocalizations or body language, which adds a relatable and endearing aspect to their personalities during such events. Engaging with pets gently and maintaining a calm atmosphere during severe weather can ease their stress. Watching their curious and sometimes comical responses not only lightens the mood but also fosters a deeper bond between owners and their furry companions during challenging times like the Boston Blizzard.
