My nails this year and my rating for each

... Read moreHey everyone! I've been loving looking back at all my nail looks from the past year and giving them a good old rating. It's so much fun, and honestly, it helps me figure out what I truly love and what styles might not be for me in the future. Maybe my nail journey will give you some fresh ideas or help you rate your own manicures! When I'm giving my nails a rating, I consider a few things. First, the shape and how well it suits my hands. My very first set of the year, those light pink, natural-looking square-shaped nails, only got a 3/10 because I was so unsure about the shape and color. It was a learning curve! I quickly realized that while square can be chic, it has to be done just right. Later, I had another set of light pink, natural-looking square-shaped nails that only got a 4/10; the shape still wasn't quite hitting, and sadly, they broke pretty quickly – durability is definitely a factor! Next, the color and design. Do they spark joy? My French tip nails with a light pink base and white tips, plus a cute little heart, were a 6/10. Pretty, but again, the square shape just wasn't ideal for that classic French look. Live and learn! Contrast that with my light blue square-shaped nails, featuring a clear base with white speckles on one nail – those were an undeniable 11/10! Absolutely my favorite set, they just felt so fresh and unique. It really shows how much the right color and a subtle detail can elevate a look. Then there's the occasion factor. Some nails are just perfect for a specific time of year. My dark red nails with gold glitter tips? An easy 8/10 because they were absolutely perfect for Christmas. They instantly put me in a festive mood! And my dark green nails, with one nail boasting a clear base and a delicate red ribbon design, were a solid 10/10 – my second favorite. They were elegant and unique, perfect for a special winter vibe. Beyond aesthetics, I also think about longevity and how practical the nails are for my lifestyle. Did they chip easily? Did the design last? Did they snag on everything? These practical elements contribute a lot to the overall rating. For example, knowing that some square shapes didn't last as well helps me communicate better with my nail tech for future appointments. My top tip for anyone looking to rate their own nails or get inspiration: take photos! It’s incredible how much you can learn from looking back. Don't be afraid to try different shapes, from square to almond, or experiment with colors like vibrant light blue or deep dark green. And always consider adding a little something extra, whether it's gold glitter tips for sparkle or a tiny red ribbon design for charm. Every manicure is a chance to express yourself, so have fun with it and give those nails a thoughtful rating!

I loved the the more natural look, the pink and white and the ombré look on you but I think with your hands a more rounded shape would look more flattering, like a short almond or a coffin shape.
