Skincare Tretinoin

✨ Do you know what each tretinoin % actually does and when you’ll see results?

If anyone is interested I restock once per month. It is brought from Mexico and it’s only a limited stock per month. If you are interested, please send me a message.

In the meantime, here is a little information about each.

0.025% (gentle / maintenance):

Targets light texture + keeps pores clear. This is for beginners. Dermatologist will have you on this percent for weeks leading up to months.

Results: for mild acne 8–12+ weeks, longer if you have active acne.

0.05% (main treatment / workhorse):

Targets acne marks, pigmentation, texture. Dermatologist will most likely stick with this percentage and won’t go higher because it’s the consistency that gives you the results. This is prescribed after the inflammation has kind of died down and also when your skin has adapted to the 0.025%.

Results: 8–12 weeks for smoother skin; tone improves around 12+ weeks. It also depends on how severe the scarring or texture is.

0.1% (advanced):

Targets stubborn texture + deeper pigmentation.

Results: ~12 weeks; bigger changes by 3–6 months.

Quick guide:

0.025% = gentle upkeep/beginner

0.05% = main results

0.1% = advanced only if needed

Disclaimer: I am not a dermatologist. This is what I have experienced. Every skin is different. Some people see changes faster, others slower…diet, hydration, consistency, and your skin barrier all affect your results.💛

Please keep in mind that this is a dermatologist prescribed skin treatment in the United States.

This is not a prescribed treatment in Mexico. When bought you need to know what strength you need so you don’t destroy your skin barrier.

It's an amazing ingredient, but getting started can feel a bit daunting, especially with all the talk about purging and irritation. Trust me, I've been there! After starting my own Tretinoin journey, I quickly learned that consistency and a gentle approach are key, particularly when dealing with sensitive skin. When I first began with the 0.025% strength, my dermatologist recommended the "sandwich method." This means applying a layer of moisturizer, then your Tretinoin, and then another layer of moisturizer on top. This really helped buffer the initial intensity and prevent excessive dryness or redness. I started using it just two nights a week, then slowly worked my way up to every other night as my skin adjusted. It’s not a race, and listening to your skin is crucial! One thing I wasn't fully prepared for was the "Tretinoin purge." Around week 3-6, I noticed more breakouts than usual. It was frustrating, but I reminded myself it was temporary and a sign the Tretinoin was working by speeding up cell turnover. During this phase, I kept my routine super simple: a gentle, hydrating cleanser, a rich moisturizer, and of course, daily sunscreen. I avoided any other active ingredients like AHAs or BHAs to prevent further irritation. My skin definitely felt more sensitive during this time, so I focused on nurturing my skin barrier. Once my skin had comfortably adapted to the 0.025%, my dermatologist suggested moving up to 0.05% to tackle some stubborn pigmentation and texture. The transition was much smoother this time, as my skin was already accustomed to retinoids. I still used the sandwich method for the first few weeks with the higher concentration, just to be safe. It’s tempting to jump straight to the highest strength, but patience truly pays off. The article rightly points out that consistency with the right percentage, like the 0.05% workhorse, is what delivers results over time. For those aiming for the 0.1% strength, it's definitely an advanced step. I haven't personally reached this level yet, but from what I've learned, it’s primarily for very stubborn concerns and requires a highly tolerant skin barrier. Always consult your dermatologist before making such a jump, as they can assess if your skin is truly ready. Remember, Tretinoin makes your skin more sensitive to the sun, so a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ (or higher!) is non-negotiable every single day, rain or shine. This isn't just about preventing new damage; it's essential for allowing the Tretinoin to do its job effectively on existing concerns like dark spots and texture without undoing all the progress. My biggest takeaway from my Tretinoin journey? Be patient, be consistent, and be kind to your skin. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, but the long-term benefits for clear, smooth, and even-toned skin are absolutely worth it. Every skin is different, so what works for one person might need tweaking for another. Don't be afraid to adjust your routine or chat with your dermatologist if you're experiencing excessive irritation. Your skin will thank you!
