Understanding Dhul-Hijjah

Here are a few key points:
1. Hajj Pilgrimage: During Dhul-Hijjah, millions of Muslims travel to Mecca in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj, one of the Five Pillars of Islam. It’s a spiritual journey meant to purify the soul and bring us closer to God.
2. Day of Arafah:This is the 9th day of Dhul-Hijjah and is considered one of the holiest days. Muslims fast on this day and seek forgiveness and blessings.
3. Eid al-Adha:Following the Day of Arafah, we celebrate Eid al-Adha, the "Festival of Sacrifice." It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. It's a time for prayers, feasting, and giving to those in need.
