Today marks 8 years since I said my shahada and embraced Islam.
These 8 years have been filled with growth, healing, learning, struggle, friendship, prayer, and so much mercy from Allah. I’m still learning every day, but I can honestly say becoming Muslim was the best decision I ever made.
I’m deeply grateful for every person who showed me kindness, answered my questions, supported me, or helped me feel like I belonged along the way.
May Allah keep us firm in faith, increase us in sincerity, and continue guiding us closer to Him. Ameen. ✨
Marking milestones in one’s spiritual journey can be both humbling and uplifting. Reflecting on eight years since saying my shahada, I realize how much this declaration has shaped who I am today. Embracing Islam brought not just a new faith but a transformative path filled with growth and healing. Throughout these years, I encountered both challenges and profound moments of mercy from Allah. Every struggle was an opportunity to strengthen trust in Him, and every prayer became a source of peace and guidance. It was comforting to know that sincerity in faith and persistence in prayer can bring continuous blessings. I cherish the community and friendships formed along the way—people who welcomed me with open hearts, answered my many questions, and helped me feel a true sense of belonging. Learning from others’ experiences and finding support made this journey a richer and more meaningful one. For anyone considering or beginning their own path in Islam, I would say: be patient and open to learning every day. Growth is ongoing, and it’s natural to face ups and downs. Dua (prayer) plays a vital role in seeking help and remaining steadfast. May we all be kept firm in faith and increase in sincerity. This journey shows that becoming Muslim is not just a single moment but a continual process of becoming better and closer to Allah—a source of unwavering hope and mercy.
