Pantry Organization

I haven’t posted in a while but I am back and will definitely be more consistent! This was back when I first moved into my home! I was consuming lots of organization content and wanted to partake! I found lots of interesting ideas and ways to achieve the same organization for half the price.

Most of the organization baskets and dividers came from AMAZON but I found baskets from Popshelf, Homegoods, At Home and a few others that helped to craft my organization space!

I believe I spent a total of about $132 max for all of the organizational pieces, but there are a few bottom shelving that I would like to invest in to make use of the blank space in my pantry.

But trust me, transforming that chaotic space into a calm, organized haven is totally achievable, and you don't need a huge budget to do it. Just like I found amazing deals that helped me organize my pantry for about $132, you can too! So, where do you even begin with a truly cluttered pantry? My first step was always to *empty everything out*. Yes, everything! It might seem daunting, but it's the best way to see what you actually have. As you pull things out, create three piles: Keep, Toss (expired or truly unusable), and Donate (unopened, non-expired items you won't use). This decluttering phase is crucial for reclaiming your space. Once your pantry is empty, give those shelves a good wipe down. Especially if you have wire shelves, crumbs and spills can accumulate easily. This is also the perfect time to categorize your items. Group all your baking supplies together, all your snacks, pasta, cans, etc. Seeing everything laid out helps you visualize how much space you need for each category. Now for the fun part: choosing organizers! You really don't need to splurge. I found incredible pieces at places like Popshelf, At Home, and even Amazon. Look for versatile options like woven baskets for snacks or oddly shaped items, and clear containers for dry goods like pasta, flour, and sugar. Clear containers are fantastic because you can instantly see what you have, preventing those duplicate purchases. For my can organizers, I opted for tiered racks so I could easily see all my canned goods without digging. Don't forget tiered risers for spices or smaller bottles, and turntables (lazy Susans) for oils, sauces, or condiments in corners – they make everything so accessible! When planning your layout, think about zones. Put frequently used items at eye level. Heavy items like bulk drinks or pet food can go on lower shelves. For those with walk-in pantry shelves, really utilize that vertical space! Consider stackable bins or shelves that maximize height. If you're building a more robust prepper pantry, make sure your storage allows for easy rotation of stock – 'first in, first out' is key! Labeling is your best friend here, whether it's handwritten tags or a label maker. To keep your pantry organized long-term, try to do a quick tidy each week. Put things back where they belong, and do a deeper clean-out every few months. Some people even use a pantry organizer app to keep track of inventory and expiration dates, which can be super helpful, especially for larger pantries or prepper supplies. Maintaining an organized pantry doesn't have to be a constant battle; it's about setting up a system that works for you and your family.
