Extinguish the dream of re-election.
Extinguish the re-election dream! "Chai Talisman" points out the SEC to open a special code / mark on the card to prevent counterfeiting.
On February 21, 2026, Professor Chaiyant Chaiporn, a professor at the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, posted a message on the online media explaining the issue of the QR Code and Barcode on the Congressman ballot in the 2026 election, reiterating that it was a power that could be achieved in accordance with the "CAT" and that it was "very difficult" for the matter to be annulled to the election.
Dr. Chaiyant stated that the Election Commission Regulation on Congressional Elections 2023, Article 129, clearly writes that the SEC can impose additional "codes" or "marks" or "any other text" on the ballot paper as a special case without prior notice for the purpose of preventing the forgery of the ballot paper.
For the essence of Article 129, it states the principle that the ballot shall use a paper of size as necessary, and that "the Committee may require a code, or mark, or any other statement as a special case in the ballot paper without prior notice, to prevent the forgery of the ballot paper."
Professor Chaiyant also questioned the open-ended issue of why the SEC in 2026 chose the QR Code and Barcode on its ballot papers, pointing out that the reference to the authority under Article 129 is the core of which explains that "special code / mark" is already in the framework supported by the regulations and reflects the "card security" goal to prevent counterfeit cards as the essence of such measures.
