Mistakes I’ve made as a plant parent

Let me start by saying I absolutely love my plants. 🪴☺️🌺

❌Don’t- over water. I wanna take care of them so bad that sometimes I give them way more than they need. But just letting them tell me what they need by how they look is better than me, assuming even if the top of the soil feels dry

✅Do- repot them every once in a while. I think repotting my plant even if it’s in the same pot but shifting around the soil or adding new soil really helps the plant thrive and I get to check on the roots because I’m nosy. 🧐😂I only do this about once or twice a year but I think it’s helped especially the big plant because I wanna make sure it has enough of space for both root systems

✅Do- Talk to your plants and Look through the leaves I see what spots are growing and it’s very cool to see

One of the main errors is overwatering; plants need water but too much can lead to root rot. Instead, pay attention to your plants and their soil; letting them guide you based on their appearance is key. Another critical aspect is repotting. Doing this helps improve soil aeration and provides room for growth. Even if you maintain the same pot, refreshing the soil can rejuvenate your plants. Regular inspection of the roots during repotting is also beneficial. Additionally, engaging with your plants can promote their health. Talking to them or simply observing their leaves can yield insights into their growth patterns and requirements. For new plant parents, it’s beneficial to adhere to best practices such as researching the specific needs of each plant species you own, ensuring proper lighting conditions, and maintaining humidity levels that suit your plants' preferences. Connecting with fellow plant enthusiasts online or through forums can provide additional tips and community support. Always be open to learning and adapting your care routine for optimal results.
