Kitchen sink reset! 🍋 Clear, wipe, shine!

Taking the time to clean out your kitchen sink leads to overall cleaner and healthier kitchen!

👀To be honest, I don’t always wash the dishes every night before I go to sleep, but when I skip a night the next morning, I do a sink reset.

🍋I also do the old trick of cutting a lemon slice and putting it in the garbage disposal. I think it has improved the smell, but what do you think?

The process generally includes three key steps: cleaning, wiping, and shining. Using effective cleaning products that remove soap scum, grime, and harmful bacteria is essential. For instance, disinfectants proven to kill 99.9% of viruses and bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enterica, and E. coli can significantly improve kitchen hygiene when used properly. After cleaning, wiping down the sink and surrounding area ensures the removal of residue and prevents buildup that could harbor odors or germs. Finally, shining the surfaces helps to restore the sink’s visual appeal and creates a refreshing kitchen atmosphere. One popular, natural hack to deodorize the garbage disposal is placing a slice of lemon into it. The citrus oils released while running the disposal mask unpleasant smells and leave behind a fresh scent. This practice not only improves the kitchen's odor but can also reduce grease buildup inside the disposal. Additionally, following some safety precautions and recommended usage, such as spraying cleaning foam from about six inches away and letting it stand for five minutes before wiping, enhances the effectiveness of the cleaning process. Incorporating these steps into your kitchen routine, especially after skipping dishwashing for a night, helps maintain cleanliness and prevents the accumulation of harmful microorganisms.
