Let’s Slide on a Trail Ride
So I got my first pair of @Tecovas Boots. So who going to teach me the steps so I can be ready for the trail rides. Lol #yes they are branded with my wedding date and my soon initials. #tecovasboots #brandedboots #trailride #citygirl
Following my excitement about finally getting my custom Tecovas Boots, I’ve been diving deep into what truly makes a great trail riding experience, especially when it comes to gear and choosing the right adventure. It’s not just about looking the part, but being safe and comfortable too! When it comes to finding the “best boots for trail riding,” I’ve quickly learned it’s more nuanced than just picking a popular brand. While my Tecovas are gorgeous and feel great, I’m also looking into what seasoned riders consider essential. For trail riding, comfort is key since you'll be spending hours in the saddle. Look for boots that offer good ankle support – this is crucial for stability and preventing twists on uneven terrain or if you have to dismount quickly. A defined heel (at least an inch) is non-negotiable; it prevents your foot from slipping through the stirrup, which could be really dangerous! I've also read that the sole should have good grip for walking on varied ground, but not be too chunky that it gets stuck in the stirrup. Leather is often recommended for its durability and ability to mold to your foot over time, but there are some fantastic synthetic options too that are lighter and easier to clean. My personal tip? Try them on with the type of socks you'd wear riding and walk around for a bit to ensure there are no pinch points. Beyond just the boots, I've started thinking about where to even go for an amazing trail ride. While I haven't settled on a specific spot like a "Vermont Icelandic horse farm," I’ve been researching what makes a horse farm or riding center truly exceptional. When I look at reviews, I'm not just checking for pretty pictures; I'm looking for consistent feedback on a few key areas. Are the horses well-cared for and seem happy? Are the guides experienced, friendly, and prioritize safety? Do they match horses to riders based on skill level? I’m particularly drawn to places that offer unique experiences, maybe even with specific breeds like the sturdy and smooth-gaited Icelandic horses, which sound incredible! Reviews that mention clear safety instructions, well-maintained equipment, and breathtaking trails really catch my eye. It's all about finding a place that feels safe, respectful of the animals, and offers a memorable, immersive experience. And it’s not just about the boots and the farm; preparation is everything! Besides my new boots, I'm packing comfortable, durable jeans or riding pants, a lightweight long-sleeved shirt to protect from sun and brush, and, of course, a helmet – safety first! A small backpack with water, sunscreen, and a camera to capture the stunning views is also on my list. I’m so excited to document my journey from city girl to confident trail rider, and I’m even planning to use apps like ACapCut to edit my ride videos and share all the amazing moments with you all. Wish me luck on my first real trail adventure!
