During my visit to Los Angeles, I had the chance to dive into some truly unforgettable dishes across the city's diverse neighborhoods. Starting with Dunsmoor in Glassell Park, their rich Emmy’s pork and green chili stew paired perfectly with their fresh flour tortillas made for a comforting and hearty meal that set a high bar for the trip. At Fondry in Eagle Rock, I couldn't get enough of the Kouign Amann, a lightly sweet and incredibly flaky pastry that’s become a local favorite. Their attention to detail in baking makes it worth the visit just for the bakery experience. No LA food tour would be complete without stopping by Langer’s Delicatessen in Westlake. Known for some of the best pastrami sandwiches in the country, their classic sandwiches stand proudly alongside legendary delis like Katz's. The combination of quality meats and perfect seasoning truly reflects the city's rich culinary heritage. Amboy Quality Meats in Chinatown amazed me with their highly-rated burgers, demonstrating that LA's burger scene is as vibrant as ever. The juicy patties and quality ingredients make this spot a must-visit for burger enthusiasts. Angel’s Tijuana Tacos served up authentic Al Pastor tacos that had me craving for more. With multiple locations throughout LA, it’s no surprise they draw crowds keen on flavorful and affordable street food. In Santa Monica, Capo's Italian offerings, like the rigatoni truffle ragu, provided a luxurious taste experience. The blend of classic Italian with LA’s creative flair was evident in every bite. Hermosa Beach’s Baran’s 2239 offered a standout breakfast burrito that was perfectly wrapped and packed with delicious chorizo, avocado, and grilled onions in a griddled tortilla, demonstrating that breakfast can be an art form. Sawtelle’s Miya Miya Shawarma became an instant favorite, with their viral chicken shawarma earning high praise and long lines. The authentic Jordanian flavors transported my taste buds straight to the Middle East. Lastly, Saby’s Coffee & Kitchen in Mar Vista impressed me with their flavorful chorizo breakfast burritos, which were bursting with fresh ingredients and bold seasoning. Each location brought something unique to the table, offering a diverse taste of LA’s culinary scene. Whether you’re into pastries, hearty sandwiches, or tasty tacos, these spots represent the best of what Los Angeles food has to offer. Eating my way through LA was not just a trip but a flavorful journey I highly recommend to any food lover.
