Baby gift for a friend's baby
This is the fourth "diaper cake" I've made in the last 10 years. I don't think it's necessarily a popular gift idea in America, but I remember seeing it once on social media when I was in college and wanting to make it for my friends. So I've made it four times for my Japanese friends since I lived in Japan. Baby showers are not very common in Japan, so I'm always curious about what kind of gifts I give to my friends who have babies. I wonder how they celebrate in Japan, especially if it's their first birth. Sometimes I get a little worried that my gifting style is overdone and I'm overpowering the other person, But I've never been told that and people around me seem pretty forgiving. Maybe it's just my friend group 🤔
Also, just in case, this is not a real cake to eat, it's literally layers of diapers to make it look like a cake, and at the bottom there are some pokemon toys for babies over two months old, and i thought this would be so much fun because my friend and her husband love pokemon and anime.
