"Don't cry upon you losses
Don't measure today with tomorrows
Don't trust to passed and coming day
Believe in now - and be happy today."
-Omar Khayyam
Reflecting on Omar Khayyam’s insightful words, I've learned that much of our stress arises from dwelling on what we've lost or anxiously anticipating what might come. In my own experience, practicing mindfulness and focusing on the present moment has significantly improved my wellbeing. Instead of measuring today against hopes for tomorrow or regrets from yesterday, I try to embrace the now by engaging fully with my surroundings—whether that’s appreciating nature, enjoying time with friends, or simply acknowledging my breath. This mindset shift has taught me to find happiness in small daily joys and to trust life’s unfolding rather than fear the unknown. I recommend anyone feeling overwhelmed to try this approach: pause, breathe, and remind yourself that happiness is found by believing in and living fully in the present moment.
