Sickness prepared!

The other night, I had one of those mom wins that nobody claps for but feels like Olympic gold.

At 2am, I heard that dreaded little cough from down the hall. You know the one—the one that says, “Cancel your plans tomorrow, sickness has arrived.”

But instead of panicking, rummaging through closets, or sending my husband on a midnight Walgreens run, I felt… calm.

Why? Because this time, I was READY.

I had the thermometer batteries replaced, the children’s Tylenol already stocked, the humidifier cleaned and waiting, extra tissues tucked in every room, and even the “sick day basket” (blanket, bucket, snacks, and comfort items) on standby.

So while my little one curled up in my lap with flushed cheeks, I didn’t have to stress about what I didn’t have. I just got to be there—rocking, soothing, and handing out popsicles like a pro.

And let me tell you—being prepared doesn’t stop the sickness, but it sure makes me feel like the calm in the middle of the storm.

Because sometimes, mom life isn’t about big fancy wins… it’s about knowing exactly where the thermometer is at 2am. 💪💗
