My sky photography❤️📸💙

It’s so common to look at a beautiful photo and wonder, "Where was this taken?" I know I do it all the time! When I’m out capturing skies, I often get asked the same question. The truth is, you don’t always need to travel far to find incredible photo opportunities, and that's something I'm learning on my journey to become a photographer. I’ve even managed to capture moments like a fleeting lightning bolt in the distance from a seemingly mundane spot, or the vibrant pink and purple clouds hanging over a house numbered '1407'. My biggest tip for aspiring photographers, especially if you’re like me and mostly shooting with your phone for now, is to constantly observe your surroundings. That 'Bear Creek' sign might be part of a local park, or even just a roadside marker, but it can provide a unique foreground element that tells a story. Look for interesting objects that frame the sky – tall pine trees, distant buildings, or even reflections in puddles after a rainy day. These everyday elements truly add character and a sense of place to your sky photography without giving away your exact address if you prefer to keep some privacy. I’ve learned that the 'where' is often less about a famous landmark and more about the moment and *perspective*. A cloudy sky at dusk over a simple street, perhaps near a 'SUPER VAPE TOBACCO' shop, can be breathtaking if you catch the right light. Don't underestimate the beauty in your own backyard or neighborhood. What might seem like just a number on a house or local shops can become part of a compelling narrative in your photo. Experiment with different times of day – early morning, sunset, or even after a storm – to see how light transforms familiar places. It’s all about training your eye to see the extraordinary in the ordinary. It helps you develop your unique eye without the pressure of needing expensive trips.
