Protect yourself
As a woman I am fearful. The changes happening are not for the best and we never felt safe. As a black woman I have to do more because I have never felt safe or protected.
I have to be smarter, I have to be strong, I have to be my own protector. I sucks that I would feel safer among a room full of women I’ve never met than to trust a man to protect or stand up for me on any level but that is the world we are in. I can pray for better times but I will work hard to protect the times I am in currently.
In today's society, many women, particularly Black women, face unique challenges regarding safety and protection. It is essential to cultivate self-awareness and resilience. One effective strategy is to establish a support network with other women, creating a safe space where experiences and fears can be shared. Consider taking self-defense classes or engaging in community workshops focused on empowerment and safety. Additionally, mental health support is vital; speaking with professionals or joining support groups can provide valuable coping mechanisms. Furthermore, embracing mindfulness techniques such as meditation or journaling can help process fears and promote a positive mindset. Remember, every woman has the right to feel safe and secure in her environment. Advocate for better societal changes and empower one another to stand strong against challenges. By transforming your fears into actionable steps, you can create a sense of control over your safety and wellbeing, fostering resilience and empowerment within yourself and your community.
