College hacks
Here’s a list of some little money and time savers I found over the past few years that have really helped me in college thus far!
First is StudentUniverse they offer exclusive discounts for students on flights, hotels and tours, but the app only is used for flights atm.
Next is Socratic. This app was a life saver for me when taking tests online. If I couldn’t copy and paste something on my phone using the camera function was a huge help, it’s like google image search but for your class and homework questions!
Then I have SpanishDictionary!! This one is by far my favorite because google translate is just not up to par when it comes to correctly conjugating or correctly using grammar from English to Spanish. This app also has interactive learning that can help your Spanish learning journey!
Last but not least this hack needed multiple slides because of how special it is! First you need to download the Discord app and join Breathebook (https://discord.gg/QWhMSSFj) <<here’s the link!!! Then follow the instructions in the screenshots above!! I’ve literally gotten every single book and textbook that I need for class through this hack! And if you’re even just a big bookworm you can find almost any book on here as well!! Comment if you guys have any questions!
College life can be a whirlwind of new experiences, challenging classes, and, let's be honest, a tight budget! Over my years as a student, I've discovered some truly game-changing apps and strategies that have not only saved me a significant amount of money but also precious time, helping me stay on top of my studies and still enjoy my free time. Here’s a deeper dive into some of my absolute favorite college hacks: updated and expanded with more practical tips. First up, let’s talk about acing those challenging assignments. I remember countless late nights struggling with complex math or chemistry problems. That's where the Socratic app camera homework feature became my academic lifesaver. It’s more than just snapping a picture; Socratic actually breaks down problems step-by-step, providing explanations and relevant learning resources. For concepts I couldn't quite grasp from lectures or textbooks, using the camera function to get socratic homework help screenshots with detailed solutions made all the difference. It's like having a personal tutor available 24/7, helping me understand everything from algebra equations to historical events. If you're ever stuck and need quick, reliable explanations, this app is a must-have. Next, for navigating the travel bug on a student budget, StudentUniverse app is unparalleled. Beyond just StudentUniverse flight booking, I've found amazing deals on hotels and even tours through their platform. My personal strategy for getting the best prices is to be flexible with my travel dates. Sometimes, shifting your departure or return by just a day or two can lead to significant savings. For example, I once snagged a roundtrip flight from Fort Myers to New York City for an incredible price of $112.99 – an absolute steal for a college student! Always keep an eye out for their flash sales and exclusive student discounts; they're fantastic for planning weekend getaways or trips home without breaking the bank. Mastering a new language, especially for required courses, can be tough. That's where the SpanishDictionary.com app truly shines. While Google Translate is okay for quick words, it often falls short when it comes to correct grammar and verb conjugations. This app, however, is a comprehensive tool. I love its interactive learning exercises, which make vocabulary and grammar practice engaging. The word of the day app interface is a simple yet effective feature that helps build vocabulary consistently without feeling overwhelming. Incorporating it into my daily routine has significantly boosted my Spanish skills. Finally, the ultimate money-saving hack: free textbooks. The cost of textbooks can easily add hundreds, if not thousands, to your annual expenses. My personal hack for this involves joining the Breathebook Discord server. It's a fantastic community where students help each other find free download links for textbooks. You simply go to the #book-request channel, follow the instructions, and soon enough, you'll likely receive a link to a PDF version. I've successfully downloaded everything from popular novels like 'The Hunger Games' to expensive academic texts. After downloading, you can easily organize them in your digital library, like my Apple Books library, making them accessible on any device. This method has saved me a fortune and is one of the most impactful college hacks I've discovered. By leveraging these resources, I've managed to keep my budget in check and focus more on my studies.
