My summer skin care routine
I love my skin even tho I still struggle with acne here and there this is my summer skin care routine. It might not be a lot and it’s very simple and inexpensive. Most of these products come from Walmart or target. The Gua Sha and roller set I got for my birthday and it’s from Amazon.

Hey everyone! Following up on my simple summer skincare routine, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into some other essentials and tips I’ve picked up that really make a difference, especially when the weather heats up. We all want that healthy, clear skin without breaking the bank, right? While we often focus on our faces, summer body care is equally important! I've found that gentle exfoliation a couple of times a week helps keep my skin smooth and prevents ingrown hairs, especially if you're shaving more often. I use a simple sugar scrub or a body wash with salicylic acid. After showering, a good body lotion is non-negotiable. I personally love lightweight, non-greasy formulas that absorb quickly, like the one I mentioned – it really helps combat dryness from swimming or sun exposure. Don't forget your SPF for your body too! I always apply a dedicated sunscreen to exposed areas, especially my arms and legs, before heading out. Reapplication is key, particularly after sweating or swimming. And if you do catch a bit too much sun, an aloe vera gel or a soothing after-sun lotion can be a lifesaver for cooling and hydrating your skin. Choosing the right facial cleansers is crucial for summer. I swear by my hydrating facial cleanser and the cream-to-foam cleanser for keeping my skin clean without stripping it. In summer, we tend to sweat more and our skin can feel oilier, so a good cleanse removes impurities without over-drying. For daily hydration, a lightweight daily moisturizing face lotion is perfect. I look for something non-comedogenic that won't clog pores, as that can worsen summer breakouts. And, of course, no summer routine is complete without a powerful sunscreen. I can't stress this enough – it's the ultimate anti-aging and anti-acne product! I always opt for at least SPF 30, and if I'm going to be outdoors or near water, a water-resistant formula is a must. Beyond the basics, I've really seen a difference incorporating my rose quartz facial roller and Gua Sha tool into my morning routine. I use them for about 5-10 minutes each morning after applying my serum or face oil. The cold stone helps reduce puffiness – especially around my eyes – and promotes lymphatic drainage, which leaves my face looking less swollen and more sculpted. It's such a relaxing ritual to start the day! For those of us who struggle with acne, summer can be tricky. Increased humidity and sweat can sometimes lead to more breakouts. Besides my gentle cleansers, I sometimes incorporate a salicylic acid toner a few times a week to keep pores clear. Also, remember to change your pillowcases frequently and cleanse your skin immediately after sweating heavily. Hydration from the inside out is also super important – drinking plenty of water helps keep your skin supple and can aid in detoxification. Finally, a few general summer skincare tips: Try to avoid heavy, occlusive makeup that can clog pores in the heat. Opt for tinted moisturizers or mineral powders instead. And don't forget to protect your lips with an SPF lip balm! Eating antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables can also support your skin's health from within, offering some natural protection against environmental stressors. Simplifying your routine doesn't mean sacrificing results; it just means being smart about your product choices and consistency!
