advice I wish I could give younger me (your turn)
If I could sit down with my younger self, I’d tell her two things.
First, stop tying your worth to your productivity. Rest is not laziness, and hustling yourself into the ground doesn’t mean you’re more valuable.
Second, stop trying to be the smallest version of yourself. You’re allowed to take up space, in your body, in your opinions, in your life.
It took me years to learn those lessons, and I wish I could’ve carried them with me sooner.
What’s the one piece of advice you’d go back and tell your younger self if you could???

Looking back, many of us realize how much pressure we put on ourselves to be constantly productive and to minimize our presence or opinions, especially when we were younger. It’s common to believe that self-worth is directly linked to achievements or how busy we remain. However, the truth is quite different—rest and self-acceptance are vital for long-term well-being. Confidence and self-love grow when you stop measuring yourself against others. Most people are focused on their own lives and insecurities, not scrutinizing you as much as you think. This understanding can bring a sense of freedom to live authentically and make space for your own voice. Rest isn’t a privilege to be earned after completing every task on your to-do list. Instead, it’s a necessary part of maintaining mental and physical health. Overworking yourself will not increase your value or worth—it can lead to burnout and diminish your true potential. Recognizing this early can change your relationship with time and productivity for the better. Moreover, you deserve to take up space — not just physically but emotionally and intellectually. Your opinions matter, your experiences are valid, and your presence enriches those around you. Trying to be the smallest, quietest version of yourself because of fear or insecurity only limits your growth and happiness. In embracing these lessons, you can foster a deeper connection with yourself and cultivate confidence that carries through life. If I could give a message to any younger self, it would be: live freely, honor your need to rest, and never shrink to fit someone else’s expectations. Your journey towards self-compassion and empowerment is worth every step.

Wish I knew that it's okay to not have everything figured out by 20. Still figuring it out now.
