i used to think imitation was the highest form of flattery, until it started stealing my sense of self. it’s a strange experience to watch someone morph into your mirror image, especially when you love them. but i’ve learned that people copy when they’re unsure of who they are. it doesn’t make them bad... it just means they’re still forming an identity. i had to learn that it’s okay to feel both compassion and frustration. boundaries don’t mean you stop caring; they mean you’re protecting what’s uniquely yours. true friendship celebrates individuality. it says, “i love what you do, and i love that i’m different too.”

I usually take it as a compliment at first, but if it starts feeling uncomfortable, I create distance and focus on staying authentic without competing or explaining myself.
