Not the best travel morning…
Not the best travel morning BUT also just grateful it wasn’t more time in a car tbh
Travel days aren’t always smooth sailing, and my recent experience perfectly illustrates that. After moving into a new place just a week earlier, I found myself at the airport ready for what I hoped would be a typical journey. However, my optimism was quickly tested. The flight I took featured the worst turbulence I’ve ever experienced. Passengers around me were screaming, and every bump in the air felt like a reminder of how unpredictable flying can be. Unexpectedly, the airline discarded my face wash for being just half an ounce too large—a small yet frustrating setback after enduring the shaking cabin. It’s moments like these that remind me how strict airport security can feel arbitrary but necessary. Thankfully, this discomfort was offset by watching a beautiful sunrise, although it was hardly enough to ease the anxiety from the turbulent ride. Landing in Missouri brought some relief and the chance to grab a much-needed breakfast sandwich before heading to the office. Despite the rough start, being able to settle in and power through work made me appreciate the privilege of combining travel with career opportunities. I know many have longer layovers or spend countless hours in the car, so while it wasn’t an ideal morning, I was genuinely grateful for what I had. For frequent travelers, unpredictable events like these are a reminder to stay adaptable and patient. Whether it’s gate delays, lost items, or bumpy flights, having a flexible mindset can significantly improve the overall experience. And at the end of a stressful travel day, there’s always something to be thankful for—like reaching your destination safely, a new place to call home, or simply the chance to continue pursuing your goals on the road.
