🧗 Bouldering in Malacca 🇲🇾
Looking for something different to do in Melaka besides eating and café hopping? We… kinda got bored from eating so much that we decided to just go bouldering in the only rock climbing gym in Melaka - 📍Pampa Rock Climbing.
We dropped by on a Sunday morning and were surprised to find the place pretty empty. The staff on duty was extremeeeeely nice and friend but he spoke a mix of Mandarin, English and Malay at Eminem-level speed dead leh. Hr told us the pricing in Malay, but my husband somehow thought it was English. We were both just nodding along with an awkward grin 😬 While we were climbing, we also caught him casually vibing and dancing to a K-pop song while keeping an eye on the kids 💯
Anyway, total damage came up to RM80 for two people, including shoe rental. He also mentioned that we arrived at the perfect time because the gym would become staffless from 1pm onwards.
As complete beginners, we found the routes surprisingly challenging (can’t do level 3 onwards) The climbing area itself isn't very big, but we worked up a sweat.
My biggest eeeks was the mosquitoes. The ventilation inside wasn't particularly great, so there were quite a few of them buzzing around the climbing routes omg help la.
The toilets are located near the backdoor of the hotel lobby. They're clean enough, but there's no showers if you're planning to head somewhere immediately after your session.
Overall, if you're into bouldering and happen to be in Melaka, Pampa Rock Climbing is worth checking out. Just come prepared with some mosquito repellent and you are gtg.
