Remind your loved ones:

To the ones who struggle,

You are so loved and cared for. Even if those closest to you don’t show it. Someone out there loves you. Stick around to find them or for them to find you. The sunset is pretty enough with you here to watch it with. When it gets too dark and you can’t see your way out, walk blindly. Someone will shine a light soon. Take that step of faith and stay. Reach out and someone will reach back. Find something to keep you entertained and happy. Whether it be collecting rocks or writing songs. No matter what, no matter when, no matter how… you matter and we will fight for you when you need it or even when you don’t. If no one has told you today, I am so proud of you. You made it one more day. I love you and all of what makes you who you are. Stay strong beautiful soul.

Love,

Isa 🩷

I’ve long since known that mental health was hidden as if it’s a crime to have mental illness problems. I am no stranger to the question of “what would their next day have looked like if they had just stayed?”

You don’t have to understand what mental health issues are or how they control the human body, to read this and take my advice on how you can make a difference. How you can help to make someone stay at least one more day. How you can make light in someone else’s darkness.

These people are just like we are, there is no reason you can’t help them dig their way out of the dark depths their minds have made them crawl into. There is no reason for you to hide these people like they are “psychopaths”. A simple smile can be what makes someone put down that gun. A hug could make that loved one of yours forget they ever wanted to jump.

So no, it’s not up to themselves to save their lives, they see no reason to keep it. It’s up to you to help them because they just can’t help themselves. And that’s okay. It’s perfectly okay to need help. Be proud that they did even the smallest of things. That is enough of a reason for you to be proud of them. Life isn’t about big things or grand plans. It’s about humanity coming together to live on this earth we were graciously allowed to live on.

Stop sweeping suicide and mental health under the rug. Speak up. Reach out. Smile. Hug that person. Remember the ones who we couldn’t get to in time. Do whatever you can. You do not want the guilt of knowing you could have done something to help them stay, but didn’t.

Be kind. 💛
