1 year review: home designs I regret now 👀

While open display shelves can look stunning and showcase decor beautifully, they tend to collect dust much faster than closed cabinets. Weekly dusting became a chore I hadn’t fully anticipated. Another design I reconsidered is the choice of small bathroom tiles with a lot of grout lines. Although unique in appearance, the grout requires constant scrubbing to prevent mold and discoloration, which can be exhausting over time. I also installed large mirrors throughout my living space, aiming to create an illusion of more space and light. However, these mirrors quickly showed fingerprints and smudges, which meant frequent cleaning to maintain their shine. For anyone planning renovations, I recommend prioritizing easy-to-clean surfaces and minimizing spots that trap dirt or dust. Consulting maintenance experts or reviews about cleaning services can provide additional insight into long-term upkeep. These reflections come from my personal experience as someone who prefers a cleaner, hassle-free home environment.
