Making progress. 🆙

... Read morePreparing for the SAT can feel overwhelming, but adopting structured study habits made a huge difference in my score improvement journey. One key strategy I embraced was spaced repetition. Revisiting material at set intervals—one day after learning, then three days later, and again a week later—helped reinforce concepts in my memory, preventing the typical knowledge gaps that occur when cramming. Additionally, I maintained a dedicated wrong answer journal. Every incorrect response was recorded along with the reasoning behind it, which forced me to confront my weaknesses directly. By the fourth week, I noticed I rarely made the same mistakes again, illustrating how identifying error patterns can accelerate your progress. Technology played an important role as well. Using Lumist.ai, a free tool that organizes questions by skill category, allowed me to pinpoint my areas of weakness efficiently. This meant less time guessing what to study and more time focusing on the skills that mattered most to improve my overall score. Crucially, I practiced timed sections from day one of my preparation. Treating speed as a skill rather than a side effect ensured I built the stamina and pace necessary for the actual exam environment. Starting timed drills early gave me confidence that I could complete each section within the allocated time, which made a significant difference in my test-day performance. If you're serious about raising your SAT score, I recommend combining these strategies: consistent spaced repetition, detailed error tracking, skill-focused practice with tools like Lumist.ai, and early timed practices. This approach not only improves knowledge retention and accuracy but also prepares you mentally and physically for the exam's demands. Consistency and smart study tactics are the true game-changers on the path to success.

This image illustrates the mistake of "Memorizing without context." It shows hands writing on flashcards and notes. The text explains that memorizing words without examples leads to forgetting them quickly, and suggests adding daily-life examples for better retention.
The image addresses "Reviewing randomly." It displays a hand using a flashcard app on a smartphone and another hand holding a physical flashcard. The text highlights that random reviewing causes forgetting and recommends switching to spaced repetition apps for scheduled reviews.
6 Flashcard Mistakes That Kill Your Progress
1. Memorizing without context 🧠 If you're just drilling words or isolated facts, you're missing the bigger picture. Flashcards work better when they’re tied to real-life usage. I started creating cards with example sentences or things I saw in daily life—and suddenly, words stuck with real

Progress still counts on hard days.
Not every day will feel productive. Not every day will feel peaceful. And not every day will feel like healing. Some days are simply about making it through. Getting out of bed. Taking the shower. Answering the text. Breathing through the overwhelm instead of giving up. That still mat

Not all great progress ends in crazy weight loss
This got a lot of hate when I first posted it one of my groups because my progress pic doesn’t end with weight loss… now reposting a year later, it didn’t end at all. When I first posted this a year ago, I posted because I was proud of my bulk, even when I was soo scared of gaining weight.
